I may be moving to Louisiana within a year and half. Specifically to either New Orleans or Baton Rouge.
I was born in New Orleans, but spent a good part of my childhood in Mississippi. It’s still getting back to a place that I absolutely love and hold close to my heart.
It also means getting much closer to my family and back to a place that I feel like I belong. Just the thought of getting back makes me smile.

Dude that's awesome! I always wanted to go to New Orleans, ever since I saw Live and Let Die as a little kid hahaha. Always loved the architecture and bayous and alligators too haha. Can I crash at your place if you move there?

New Orleans is one of the few cultural “regions” east of Wyoming that I have yet to visit, but I can’t wait to go!

You’ll love it. It’s nothing like anywhere else in the country.

Nice, hope it works out for you. In other news, I may be moving to Canada. Depending on how certain political events play out.
Sarcasm aside, I love New Orleans. One of the few places in the US that has some actual culture. Although I’m not sure if I could live there, too hot and too many people coming just to party and be obnoxious for me.

Congrats! If it’s the place you love, I say go for it. Yay another maybe southern Oppo!

There’s a lot to be said for having family nearby. Both my mom and my in-laws live about 10 hours away in two different directions. This makes things more difficult, especially as they age and need our assistance.
I moved to the Baton Rouge area shortly after Katrina to assist in cleanup/rebuilding efforts and haven’t found a way to leave just yet, although I am looking. New Orleans has a little too much culture for my taste and Baton Rouge is getting too crowded. The food down here is amazing, but I do miss good Texas Bar-B-Que and real Tex-Mex. It also has some of the worst drivers I’ve seen and the insurance rates reflect that.
Maybe if I can find a way out, you can fill my spot. :)

Ugh. Newark

Haha, that’s true.
I moved very close to when Katrina hit. Family is really important though and being close is even more.

When you move, expect to order, freeze and ship full meals from K Paul’s to me. Thank you in advance

I live in New Orleans! There truly is no other city like it.
